The increasing material price and reducing CO2 emissions give a problem to the shipyard industry.Many researches have contributed for solving this problem.One of them is structural design optimization,in which several previous studies have proposed calculation methods for plate thickness optimization.However,there is a difficulty when they are applied to plates that consist of different materials.
