In this work,the solvent extraction of zinc from ammoniacal ammonium sulfate solution using mixture of a sterically hindered beta-diketone (HR),1-(4-dodecyl)-pheayl-3-tertiary butyl-1,3-octadione,and tri-n-octylphosphine oxide (TOPO) in sulphonated kerosene is studied (Fu et al.,2010).The results indicate that TOPO and HR show evident synergistic effects on the solvent extraction of zinc from ammoniacal ammonium sulfate solution and the optimum conditions for the organic phase are that the concentration of the mixture of TOPO and HR is 50% (v/v),and the molar ratio of TOPO and HR is 2.
