Obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) is the most common respiratory sleep disorder (Young et al, NEJM 1993) affecting 4％ of the middle aged male and 2％ of the middle aged female population.Its prevalence is rising caused by an increase in obesity rate (Peperell et al, Am J Epidem 2013).Non-communicable disease (NCD), as defined by the World Health Organisation (WHO) causes 2/3 of all worldwide mortality (WHO 2010);four factors, alcohol, smoking, unhealthy diet and physical inactivity contribute for most of the conditions leading to death from NCD.
