  5·12 Wenchuan Earthquake has revealed the vulnerability of school safety in China.Risk mitigation of natural disasters concerns students safety and operation of education.Sponsored by Asia Foundation,Chengdu has been chosen as study area and disaster reduction activities and awareness of teachers,parents and students are studied through discussions and questionnaire analysis.A manual and workbook of disaster risk mitigation are compiled for teachers and students,respectively.Teacher training on disaster reduction is arranged.A set of risk management solutions and advice is submitted to education administrations so as to improve school disaster risk governance and awareness of disaster reduction in Chengdu.
