The island of Taiwan is the result of the ongoing collision between the Philippines Sea Plate and the Eurasian Plate with a high rate of convergence of about 8.2 cm/yr.The Hengchun peninsula in the southern tip of the Taiwan Central Range is the least deformed and the most complete accretionary prism sequences as a result of oblique collision of the Taiwan orogeny.Several studies based on palaeostress, radiocarbon dating, GPS and precise leveling have been done about this fault but no using space geodesy such as Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry (InSAR).
