The main goals of the treatment of patients with aplastic anemia (AA) are a) Support the patient during acute complications of the disease such as anemia,thrombocytopenia or granulocytopenia,b) Avoid exposure to agents which could be potentially myelotoxic and which could in turn worsen or perpetuate the BM hypoplasia and c) Stimulate the remaining BM and/or abrogate the suppression of its function.
