We apply poromechanics, originally developed to describe flow in macro-porous media such as soil,to quantifying the mechanical and transport properties of solvent-saturated thin polymer films.By indenting the material to a fixed displacement using a rigid probe,we can measure the contact area-dependent load relaxation process as a function of time to deduce the solvent diffusion coefficients,as well as the shear modulus and average pore size of the polymer material.
