Ferric oxides, hydrothermally prepared from potassium ferricyanide (K3Fe(CN)6),were artificially immobilized onto multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) to catalyze the electrooxidation of ascorbic acid (AA).Images of SEM (scanning electron microscopy) revealed that the obtained ferric oxide particles were leaf-shaped particles,as has never been reported so far. Results obtained from EDS (electron diffraction spectroscopy) and XRD( X-ray diffraction) demonstrated that iron element exists in the produced particles and the prepared ferric oxide particles are α-Fe2O3 rather than other types of ferric oxides.
