Antibacterial effect of the dressing containing multivalent silver ion carried by Zirconium phosphat

  Purpose To elevate the antibacterial effect of multivalent silver ion carried by zirconium phosphate (ZP-Ag) both in vitro and in experimental rat burn wound.Methods Minimal inhibition concentration (MIC) and minimal bactericidal concentration (MBC) of ZP-Ag to three different strains of bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus,Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli) were determined in vitro compared with Sulfadiazine silver (SD-Ag) firstly.Then the dressings containing same mass of ZP-Ag or SD-Ag were prepared paralleling,and their anti-microorganism activities on infectious wounds in a rat bum model were assayed respectively.The responses of the wounds managed with the two kinds of prepared dressings were also checked.Results Both MIC and MBC of ZP-Ag to S.Aureus,P.Aeruginosa and Escherichia Coli were lower by two to four folds than those of SD-Ag.In vivo,we found that the dressing of ZP-Ag had much more effective antibacterial action to inhibit the growths of the above three strains under burnt scar than the dressing made from the same mass of SD-Ag.Moreover,the anti-microorganism effect was unchanged after the dressing with ZP-Ag was washed 20 times,while it was dramatically decreased after the dressing with SD-Ag washed 20 times.Covered by either regular or washed ZP-Ag dressing,the wounds showed integrity and no visible inflammatory reaction.Whereas various extents of inflammatory reactions on or around the wounds covered with regular SD-Ag dressing had been observed.Conclusion this study showed that the dressing with ZP-Ag had prominent and relative long-term antibacterial effect,which indicated that the ZP-Ag dressing could be a potential effective,low-cost management for bum wound.

目的:观察溃疡膏加白糖在治疗烧伤耐甲氧西林金黄色葡萄球菌(MRSA)感染创面的临床效果,提高残余创面治愈率。方法:回顾性总结我科1996年1月~2008年10月期间收治的烧伤患者,创面分泌物细菌培养为MRSA感染者52例,创面处理在溃疡膏内加入白糖,创面用约1∶5000的高锰酸钾溶液清洗干净,直接涂抹溃疡膏后覆盖凡士林纱布,半暴露或者干纱布包扎,根据创面感染控制情况每日或者间隔1~-2天换药1次。
