Five new terpenoids designated ximaolins A-E (1-5), characterized as cembrane and norcembrane diterpenoids, were isolated from a south China sea soft coral Sinularia sp., together with two known cembranoids(6-7).The structures of the new compounds were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analysis and by comparison with data reported in the literature.Moreover, compounds 1-7 were evaluated in vitro for their cytotoxicity against selected cancer cell lines.
