The study was carried out to find out the differences in compositions and antimicrobial activities of essential oils obtained from healthy plants, natural wild agarwood and artificially chemical stimulated agarwood originating from Aquilaria sinensis (Lour.) Gilg. The chemical composition of oils was investigated by chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS).The results showed that the healthy plants oil was abundant in fatty acid and alkanes, while the other two samples were rich in sesquiterpense and aromatic constituents.Oils of natural wild agarwood and artificially chemical stimulated agarwood had better inhibition activities to B.subtilis and S.aureus , compared with healthy plants oil.And they were all not sensitive to E.coli.
