Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are an ideal electrode material because of their good conductivity, high aspect ratio with nano-sized diameters.CNTs can be used for efficient nano-electrodes in sensors, photo-electronic devices, and micro fluidic chip. The three-dimensional (3D)network of carbon nanotubes was developed as a new type of microfluidic platform and a strain sensor. The 3D network of CNTs has hierarchical structures comprised of interconnected SWNTs between Si pillars, and the Al2O3 coated 3D network was used for nanoparticles filtration and streptavidin capturing in microfludic chip.We also characterized the properties of strain sensor by using a 3D network of CNTs embedded in PDMS film.
