Objective: To explore whether anticentromere antibody (ACA) is the major antibody in antinuclear antibodies (ANAs) which exert adverse impact on oocyte maturation,embryo development and pregnancy outcomes.Methods: A total of 187 patients were recruited for this study,ANA and ACA were tested before ICSI program,thus patients were divided into three groups according to the autoantibody profile: ANA(+)/ACA(+)group (20 patients,26 treatment cycles);ANA(+)/ACA() group (51 patients,68 treatment cycles);and ANA()/ACA() group (116 patients,160 treatment cycles).Results: The percentages of GV and MI oocytes were markedly higher,the MII oocytes percentage and the normal cleavage rate were significantly lower in ANA(+)/ACA(+) group when compared to ANA(+)/ACA() group.Although the number of high-quality embryos and the rates of pregnancy and implantation were not significantly different between the two groups,which in the two groups were much less and lower than those in the ANA()/ACA() group.Conclusion: Our data suggested ACA could be one of the most significant antibodies in ANA family which adversely affected the processes of oocyte maturation and embryo development.
