  Ti implants have to make a surface modification for biological functionalization to enhance osteointegration due to their bio-inertness.Collagen is the main component of extracellular matrix as well as bone, and it should be greatly helpful to enhance osteointegration if collagen is assembled onto the surfaces of Ti implants.Electrochemical deposition demonstrates as an effective way to deposit collagen onto Ti surfaces because the resulting mineralized collagen could soundly adhere to metal surfaces.Also the coatings with a porous structure behave well as a platform to accommodate biologically functional factors or elements.
