Energetics of chemical bonds,as represented by the pKa or homolytic bond-dissociation energy (BDE),has played key roles in promoting chemistry to a more rational science.Many studies have reported on how the rate-governing bond-strength is varied by classical molecular solvents,but there is no study concerning ionic media,comprising solely of ions,leaving a complete blank in the fundamental knowledge framework on bond-strengths as composition of medium is switched from molecules to ions.
