Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is becoming increasingly prevalent in both human and animals.Inflammation is a critical step in the progression of NAFLD.Complement system, an important component involved in innate immunity and inflammation, is activated in human and rodent NAFLD. However, it was comprehensively suppressed at both mRNA and protein expression levels in goose fatty liver. To address this distinct difference, we treated goose and human hepatocytes with fatty liver-related factors, including high dosages of glucose, insulin and fatty acids.
