Signaling molecule methyl jasmonate is often used to induce the biosynthesis of many secondary metabolites.This paper studied the influence of methyl jasmonate on glucosinolates contents of Chinese kale.Effects of 3 concentrations of methyl jasmonate on glucosinolates contents were studied and the results showed that 1 mmol/l was an appropriate concentration of inducing.1 mmol/l methyl jasmonate was applied by foliar spraying 13 and 6 days before harvest.Glucosinolates compositions and contents of Chinese kale were analyzed.Eight kinds of glucosinolates were identified in Chinese kale Cultivar ‘ming ren’,including 4 aliphatic glucosinolates (progoitrin,sinigrin,glucoraphanin and gluconapin) and 4 indole glucosinolates (4-hydroxyglucobrassicin,glucobrassicin,4-methoxyglucobrassicin and neoglucobrassicin).
