Currently, low-cost methods to measure the elasticity of arteries are, for example, photoplethysmography (PPG) and EMFit (Electrornechanical film) technology. In both techniques it is required pulse wave analysis, in which the pulse wave is separated into component waves. The component waves have a sound physiological basis.Namely, when the left ventricle contracts, the valve opens into the aorta and the increased blood pressure is caused by the composed wave component of the first shock wave.
