Plant microRNAs (miRNAs) play a role in the regulation of several biological processes such as development, growth and metabolism by negatively controlling gene expression at the post-transcriptional level. However, the role of these small molecules in the medicihal species Lycoris remained elusive. To identify novel as well as conserved miRNAs in Lycoris, two sRNA libraries were constructed by sequencing data of control and MeJA treatment of Lycoris aurea leaves.
