The paper is delt with a looking back on short history of the study on systematic biology concerning fungi and their allies, their present status, problems and prospects for the future.The author especially emphasized that the study of the pheno-genotypic combination to achieve one-gene-one polypeptide chain and one phenotype is necessary.In addition, the molecular evidence for common descent of the fungi and their allies is also important for the study of systematic biology.
