  In this paper,the impacts of feedback control on actuator fault detection for closed-loop systems with model uncertainty are considered.The existing works have proved that,when the nominal model is fairly accurate,there is no difference between the open and closed-loop fault detection,so the fault detector and controller can be separately designed without control and fault detection performance degradation.However,for closed-loop systems with model uncertainties,the impacts of feedback control on fault detection are often considered to be negative intuitively.While in this paper,we show that compared with open-loop systems,the feedback controller may have a positive impact on actuator fault detection in certain conditions,because it may reduce or even remove the unknown impact of model uncertainty on fault detection.
