Catalytic pyrolysis of biomass-derived compounds: Deactivation kinetics and coking network

  A deactivation study of ZSM-5 in heterogeneous catalysis used in the pyrolysis of biomass-derived compound has been carried out.The experiments were performed in an improved thermogravimetric analyzer at different temperatures(20,300,400,500,600,700,800 ℃),weight hourly space velocities(from 0.64 to 1.81 h-1)and partial pressures(from 1.16 to 2.25 Torr).Real-time catalyst weight monitoring during the catalytic conversion of furan as an important intermediate of biomass derivates can be reached.Furan showed strong activity even at room temperature with remarkable catalyst weight increment.Coke content increased from 3.4%at temperature of 300 ℃ to 11.2%at 700 ℃ and declined after 700 ℃.
