Backgrounds Hypertension constitutes a global public health burden,particularly in rapidly developing countries.As hypertension is reported in over two-thirds of type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) patients,and the association of these two most common noncommunicable diseases accounts for increasingly impaired glucose tolerance,atrial dysfunction,coronary and renal complications,the prevention and control of these two diseases are in urgent need.Among all effective approaches,medical nutrition therapy (MNT) are recommended as one of the initial approaches in the management of hypertension and type 2 DM,yet the ideal dietary treatment remains controversial.
