In this paper,Mo was used to enhance mechanical and wear properties of MoS2/Cu composites.Cu-3wt.% MoS2-7wt.% Mo and Cu-3wt.% MoS2 composites were prepared by vacuum hot pressing technology, respectively. The friction wear test was tested by the HST-100 High Speed Electric-tribometer.The microstructure and wearing surface morphology were examined by energy disperse spectroscopy (EDS),scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction analysis. The micro hardness, electric conductivity and density were separately measured as well. Results show that the dense compacts are obtained by vacuum hot pressing technology in powder metallurgy method, the micro hardness of Cu-3wt.% MoS2-7wt.% Mo composites is about 33.3% higher than that of Cu-3wt.% MoS2 composites. The electric conductivity of Cu-3wt.% MoS2 and Cu-3wt.% MoS2-7wt.% Mo prepared by vacuum hot pressing were 80.6 % and 77.8% IACS,respectively, which remains with good electric conductivity. The electrical sliding wear behavior of the composites was discussed as well. The results indicate that the wear mechanisms of MoS2/Cu composites are mainly abrasive wear and adhesive wear with arc erosion; the effects of current intensity and sliding velocity on the wear property of the composites are complicated. The Cu-3wt.% MoS2-7wt.% Mo composites show the best property when the current intensity is 60A and the sliding velocity is 40m/s,and that of Cu-3wt.% MoS2 composites is 30A and the sliding velocity is 20m/s.With the addition of Mo,composites show better wear properties under high speed and large electric current due to the improvment of hardness.
