Aquaporin, a ubiquitous water channel, is characterized by high water selectivity and high osmotic permeability, making aquaporin-based water filter a promising tool for water filtration and water recovery.However, the development of this novel water filter is hampered by the availability of sufficient amount of water channel protein due to the highly hydrophobic nature of channel proteins.
