Maternal Immune Activation (MIA) has been highlighted to be a risk factor for neurodevelopmental disorders such as schizophrenia and autism. However, the link between MIA and epigenomic modifications has not been examined directly. We used an MIA mouse model to investigate the postnatal epigenetic changes associated with exposure to the viral analogue Polyl:C.The effect of dietary supplementation with omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) on exposed mice was also examined.Methylation was initially estimated at Long Interspersed elements 1 (LINE1) and at the Methyl CpG Binding Protein 2 (Mecp2) promoter, and then also examined genomewide across gene regulatory regions.
