High strength Al-Zn-Mg alloys with laminated structure were investigated, focusing on the diffusion-annealing and artificial aging conditions.Aluminium alloy sheets with five-layered structure, in which A1-Mg and A1-Zn-Cu alloy layers are laminated alternately, were annealed at 743 K for 24~96 ks after hot rolling and subsequent cold rolling.Further artificial aging at 393~453 K for 0.6~180 ks was performed after natural aging for 1.2 Ms.The microstructure distributions in sheet thickness direction after aging were characterized by small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) technique using BL40XU beam line in Spring-8 and the hardness distributions were measured by micro Vickers hardness test.
