Arachidonic acid-derived epoxyeicosatrienoic acids (EETs) are important regulators of cardiac hypertrophy and heart failure, therefore manipulation of their levels is a potentially useful pharmacological strategy.Endogenous EETs are hydrolyzed by soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) to form the corresponding diols, modifying or eliminating the function of these oxylipins.
