Percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) is an image-guided procedure that utilizes cement injection to reinforce compressed portions of vertebral bodies and has become a minimally invasive surgical option in the treatment of vertebral compression fractures secondary to osteoporosis. We have established a postmenopausal osteoporotic goat model; however, the main characteristics of the new recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2/injectable calcium phosphate cement (rhBMP-2/CPC),calcium phosphate cement (CPC) and Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) are still unclear in this model by PVP.
