Rapid Prototyping technology has been widely used to aid the design and manufacture in industries such as medical,aerospace,automobile.In medical industry,the use of Rapid Prototyping technology coupled with other techniques has led to improvement in services offered to patients by improvements in such areas as 3D visualization of a specific anatomy,surgical planning,implant designs and prostheses production.In this paper we presents the procedure of using image processing software for tissue engineering by using Rapid prototyping technology:from CT scan to a real 3-D biomedical model.The approach adopted is to Integrate image processing software and Rapid prototyping systems in the design and manufacture of medical models based on data obtained from Computed Tomography (CT) device.
