Tobacco and tobacco products are a documented source of internal intake of toxic heavy metals as well as NORM.However, studies on some tobacco-derived products such as moassel and jurak tobacco mixtures and some NORM such as 238U were scarce and scattered. The main objective of this study, the first ever carried out on this scale, was to investigate the variation pattern of U,Th and K and major elements (A1,Ca,Fe,Mg,Na,P and Ti) concentration in different tobacco products according to their chemical composition.A total number of 145 samples of tobacco, cigarette, moassel and jurak were collected.Furthermore,25 set of six cigarettes were smoked and cigarette ash, fresh filter and smoked filter were collected.A11 samples were analyzed using inductively coupled plasma - mass spectrometer (ICP-MS).Differences in the calculated activity concentrations of 238U,232Th and 40K and concentration of major elements according to tobacco derived products were striking.Radiological dose assessments due to NORM inhalation via cigarette smoking were evaluated and discussed.
