MicroRNAs are a class of small regulatory RNAs that regulate gene expression by targeting the mRNAs of hundreds of genes that modulate a variety of biological processes, including cellular differentiation, apoptosis, metabolism and proliferation. Here we showed that miR-127 was significantly reduced in hepatocellular carcinoma tissues compared with adjacent normal regions in 33patients samples. The miR-127 is down regulated in 69.7% of the HCC tissues, its expression level has no correlation with TNM stages, AFP levelsand age.In vitro studies, the results showed that miR-127 promotes cell proliferation.Luciferase reporter and western blot results confirmed that miR-127 regulates Huh7 cell proliferation by targeting Sep7.We conclude that miR-127 plays oncogenetic functions and can serve as a potential diagnostic biomarker for HCC.
