Photorefractive(PR)materials are materials that combine photoconductivity and nonlinear optical(NLO)response to modulate the refractive index of the medium,which have many potential applications in holographic optical data storage and real-time optical processing,etc.Herein,the copolymers containing p-nitrobenzene-azo-carbazole and carbazole groups in the side-chains were synthesized via a simple and accessible free radical polymerization(Scheme 1).
