Immunity is a double-edged sword.The major plant immune mechanism triggered by pathogen effectors, ETI, often leads programmed cell death in the host.Therefore, ETI has to be tightly regulated to balance defense with plant growth and development.In my talk, I will present data on the signaling events leading to this immune response and describe the underlying regulatory mechanisms discovered in my laboratory.
