Background The oxidative stress plays an essential role in carcinogenesis and progression of colorectal cancer through many mechanisms, in which NF-κB (nuclear factor kappa B) signaling pathway is particularly involved.ABCG2 (ATP-Binding Cassette Family G2 Transporters) is an ABC transporter.Our previous study for the first time demonstrated that the ABCG2 is capable of protecting HEK293 cells (human embryonic kidney epithelial cells 293) from ROS (Reactive oxygen species)-mediated cell damage and death.In this study we hypothesize that ABCG2 may reduce oxidative stress and inhibit the inflammatory factor expression of colorectal cancer.
