Foxtail millet (Setaria italica), which originates from China, is an important cereal and fodder crop in Eurasian temperate and tropical zones.Foxtail millet has become one of the major food crops and traditional basic food in North China because of its high tolerance to drought and infertility.However, strong competition between weeds and foxtail millet reduce the yield and quality of foxtail millet.
