  DNA double-strand breaks(DSBs)repair is of great importance for genomic integrity.Homologous recombination(HR)and non-homologous end joining(NHEJ)are recognized as two major mechanistically distinct pathways to repair DSBs.In recent years,an alternative DSBs repair pathway,namely microhomology-mediated end joining(MMEJ),has received increasing attention.MMEJ is believed to utilize a Ku and DNA-PKs independent repair mechanism.
