尺度是人文地理学中的一个重要概念，主要有等级化、建构主义和网络化的尺度三种含义；尺度还是一种重要的研究视角和社会建构的对象。在权力争夺的过程中，尺度既是一种政治争夺的对象，也影响政治运动的结果。对尺度的争夺就是政治地理学中的尺度政治。尺度政治主要有两种策略，一种是依靠可移动性的技术的提高等进行直接斗争，另一种则是运用尺度化的表达等与外界联合。通过对三鹿奶粉事件的分析，作者验证了尺度的多元含义和尺度

尺度是人文地理学中的一个重要概念，主要有等级化、建构主义和网络化的尺度三种含义；尺度还是一种重要的研究视角和社会建构的对象。在权力争夺的过程中，尺度既是一种政治争夺的对象，也影响政治运动的结果。对尺度的争夺就是政治地理学中的尺度政治。尺度政治主要有两种策略，一种是依靠可移动性的技术的提高等进行直接斗争，另一种则是运用尺度化的表达等与外界联合。通过对三鹿奶粉事件的分析，作者验证了尺度的多元含义和尺度政治的基本原理，展示了事件中不同尺度的各主体所运用的尺度政治策略和这些主体间复杂的网络联系，显示了尺度视角和分析框架的重要性和有效性及中国尺度政治的特殊性。作者认为，尺度政治的研究具有促进学科发展和解决实际纠纷的意义，有必要引入“对地理问题的尺度(政治)考察”。
