The synthesis of aromatic and heterocyclic molecules is a topic of continued interest due to the presence of these skeletal motifs in countless natural products and synthetic compounds that display important chemical, biological, and medicinal properties.Herein, we present our results regarding a straightforward approach: palladium-catalyzed oxidative annulation reactions of a variety of readily available starting materials with unactivated internal alkynes, which illustrated the efficient preparation of various bioactive scaffolds. In addition, the significance of these scaffolds as design elements should render these methods attractive for synthetic and medicinal chemistry.
