This study investigates the dynamics of two-dimensional buoyant, submarine landslides on weak slopes. The emphasis is on the effect of the density ratio on the frontal motion,on the concentration and velocity fields,as well as on the influence of solid particles on the global motion of such flows.Numerical models are developed based on the adjoint methods to descript the motion and form of submarine landslides.Three types of laboratory experiments were conducted to study different aspects of the turbidity current motion.
