Objective:The aim of this study is to evaluate efficacy of elos and 420nm Broadband Light(BBL) in treatment for face acne vulgaris.Methods: 13 cases with face acne vulgaris were treated by elos, while the other were treated by BBL, correlated parameters are as follows: The elos with 420nm wave length.The energy density used varied from 10.0~18.0J/cm2 with RF ranged from 15 to 25 J/cm3.The BBL wave length was 420nm,energy density ranged from 7 to 8J/cm2.They were treated one and to four times with elos or BBL.The interval was four to six weeks between two treatments.Results:The effective rate were 69.23% (elos) and 42.86% (BBL).There is no significant difference between elos and BBL.There is significant difference in the tolerence of pain.There are 2 cases with serious pigment alteration after the courses of BBL treatment.Conclusion:The elos and BBL are both effective in treating face ache vulgaris.This study suggested that elos is the superior to BBL in the tolerence of pain.However,when treated with BBL, energy density should be reduced appropriately to reduce the risk of PIH.
