Oxide aerogels are regarded as high-efficiency catalysts, adsorbents, electrodes, thermal insulations, Cherenkov mediums, laser-x-ray conversion targets and optical elements, because of its coherent pore structure, great versatility, adjustable skeleton and unique properties. The variety of oxide-based aerogels is limited by the synthetic methods.A few kinds of monolithic oxide-based aerogels have been synthesized via traditional alkoxide-derived sol-gel route.
