  Plasticizer is commonly used in the plastic industry to weaken the force between plastic molecules and then improve the processing properties of plastics.Phthalate acid esters (PAEs), widely considered as environmental estrogens, are the most important plasticizer.PAEs can migrate from the plastic food packaging meterials, contaminate the food and then threaten the health of people.Therefore, many countries and regions start to restrict the use of PAEs in plastic food packaging materials.For example, EU Directive 2007/19/EC prohibits the use of di-n-butyl phthalate (DBP), butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP), di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP), diisononyl phthalate (DINP) and diisodecyl phthalate (DIDP) in the packaging materials for food containing fat, and restricts the maximum limit to be 0.1% in other food packaging materials.Hence, establishing a method of simultaneous determination of multiple PAEs in food contact products is very important.
