A growing number of both traditional and Internet enterprises employ digital technologies in detecting consumer empowerment nowadays.Although researches about consumer perspective have been prospered,few focused on the enterprise digital empowerment.Thus,this article conducts a multiple,qualitative case study about two house decoration companiesdigital empowerment process through three dimensions as structural,psychological and resource empowerment.As a result,two consumer empowerment models are established——a vertical empowerment model of traditional enterprises and a horizontal empowerment model of Internet enterprises.Further,transaction and relationship marketing theory is introduced with newfound models to illustrate the consumer logic during enterprise digital empowerment.Considering above,this article contributes new theoretical insights to empowerment study,as well as practical approaches for digital empowerment of both traditional and Internet enterprises.
