  Allenes are a class of unique compounds with two π-orbitals perpendicular to each other.For various substituted allenes,the respective C=C double bonds represent different reactivities.This would make the controlling of chemo-,regio-,and stereoselectivity possible.Recently,the highly stereoselective bromination of 1,2-allenylic diphenyl phosphine oxides has been realized in our group by using copper (Ⅱ) bromide both as the reacting partner and the catalyst,providing an efficient method for synthesizing β-bromo-γ-hydroxyprop-α-alkenyl diphenyl phosphine oxides (3) or β,γ-dibromo-α-alkenyl diphenyl phosphine oxides (2).The reaction conditions are exceptionally mild,and a wide range of functional groups are well tolerated.
