The Lower Jurassic Hongqi Formation is mainly distributed in Wanbao Basin of the southeastern Greater Khingan Mountains,Taonan,Jilin, representing the lacustrine-swamp facies developed on an intermontane downfaulted basin.Yang et al.(1982) first reported the fossil flora with occasional occurrence of Cycadophytes from Hongqi Formation. The flora consists of Neocalamites,Clathropteris,Thaumatopteris,Cladophlebis,Anomozamites,Ginkgoites,Baiera,Phoenicopsis,Czekanowskia,Solenites,Pityophyllum and Podozamites. The remarkable character of the Hongqi Formation is lack of Cycadophytes.
