This paper briefly introduces the development of agricultural insurance in Chinas history and the latest progress in agricultural insurance pilot.Selecting five counties which perform the crop insurance pilot in Hunan Province,through discussion with the provincial and county-level Government,the insurance company personnel and interviews with farmers,this paper introduces the implementation of crop insurance pilot in grass-roots level,analyzes current problems and proposes relevant policy recommendations.
