Zinc has been loaded into microporous crystalline solids such as the silicoaluminophosphate SAPO-44 and the aluminosilicate zeolite Y through vapor reaction with the protons in the porous host materials.Because each Zn atom reacts with one proton and the formed Zn+ cation is attracted to and fixed at the negatively charged framework site of the porous host (Figure 1 left),the univalent zinc species is stabilized and no Zn2+ cations are formed under this circumstance.
