In attosecond science, investigations of field-induced ionization processes with attosecond temporal resolution have attracted a lot of attention. In a recent experiment by Shafir et al.[1], the ionization time of the electron in high-harmonic generation was determined by two-color high-harmonic spectroscopy: a weak second-harmonic field, orthogonally polarized to the fundamental laser field, was applied to manipulate the electron trajectory in two dimensions, leading to the generation of orthogonally polarized odd and even harmonics.
