  Sodium and divalent cations are involved in cohesion of the bacterial biofilms formation.However, the effects of sodium, magnesium, and calcium ions on biofilm formed by Cronobacter sakazakii strains are not known.The biofilm-forming ability of 23 Cronobacter sakazakii strains was assessed at different NaCl (0.00%, 0.25%, 0.50%, 1.50%, 2.00%, w/v), MgCl2 (0.00%, 0.25%, 0.50%, 1.00%, 1.50%, w/v) and CaC12 (0.00%, 0.25%, 0.50%, 1.00%, 1.50%, w/v).Biofilm formed by Cronobacter sakazakii strains was evaluated in tryptone soy broth in 96-well plates using crystal violet staining and its quantification was counted using the optical density measurements (OD570nm) at 28℃ for 24h of incubation.
